Have you heard the term “Corporate Entertainment”?
Corporate entertainment relates to private events held by corporations or businesses for their staff, clients or stakeholders. These events can be for large audiences such as conventions and conferences, or smaller events such as retreats, holiday parties or even private concerts.
It is also commonly used to mean corporate hospitality, the process of entertaining guests at corporate events.
The companies that provides corporate entertainment are called Corporate Event Planners or Corporate Booking Agencies.
Types of corporate entertainment
There are various types of corporate events that make use of entertainment. An Opening General Session may include entertainment that adds excitement and presents the overall theme of the meeting. Mixers or pre-dinner parties many times use entertainment is meant to provide a backdrop for conversation, perhaps an acoustic ensemble or pre-recorded music. Awards or Gala events, usually the last event in a series of meetings, can make use of many options, from celebrity entertainers, local Twin Cities entertainers (Minneapolis Magicians) to exciting bands providing dance music or other options that will leave the attendees with a feeling of excitement and looking forward to the next meeting. There are many different types of corporate entertainment.
Earlier in my performance career I remember there were LOTS of Entertainment Agencies, but since the poularity of the internet, these agents have pretty much all gone by the wayside.
There are a few left. One is the GL Berg agency. (I’m not even listed with GL Berg, but I am so impressed with Gary Berg and his ability to keep his business going, I had to list and link his website.)
Another one is Spotlight Corporate Entertainment. Frank Steck has been providing high quality entertainment services for as long as I can remember. (I’m not listed with Frank either, but his business is top rate.)
I own a website that lists multiple speakers, entertainers, presenters and performers that you can review and contact for your next company function. The website is called My Synergy Cafe. (I AM LISTED HERE) :o)
Sometimes companies will provide an educational speaker that is also entertaining, or and entertainer that has the ability to custom tailor their program to convey a specific message.
I do this with what I call “Magic with a Message”. This type of program is what is known as EduTrainMent, and can be incorporated into an Awards Banquet, a Sales Meeting, or a Hospitality Suite at a tradeshow.
